Hello to housewives and housemoms! You are appreciated

Being a housewife or housemom is celebrated during certain events in a year but under the day to day grind, it is usually seen as the lesser “career” or “profession.” Why though? Just because someone wants to stay at home instead of pursuing a career, doesn’t mean she is less of a person than those who strive to be at the top of their careers. I’m not bashing those who are career people because it’s good that you have such ambitions but please don’t let it get to your head and think yourselves better than those who chose to stay at home. Others have “no choice” as they prefer to have hands-on involvement with their children and making sure that the house is a warm home that welcomes the kids and the husband.

So what if what you want is not the rat race that everyone is scrambling for? If you want to be a stay at home wife or mother then be the best stay at home wife or mother you can be. Do what can be done to make your home a better place, make it into a “career” that can make you happy and proud.

Until now, I still encounter people who frown upon those who prefer to stay at home. They put their noses up in the air and think lowly of those housewives/housemoms thinking the latter’s lives are boring. If you do what you love, you will bloom and flourish. Not everyone can be lawyers or doctors or nurses or what. Don’t fit yourself in a hole if you’re a star. Be a star and shine and let others see that you are proud of what you do and loving it.

Late Valentine’s surprise to myself… I guess?

I’ve always had no luck in raffles whatsoever. For some reason, my name or entry never gets called until I’ve given up any hope of winning. I only drop them in dropboxes with a carefree mind, thinking I will never win until this month.

There’s this raffle from Gifts Davao where all you’ve got to do is like their page on Facebook (Gifts Davao Free Delivery), like and share the post about the raffle and comment on the post. You’ve got to comment on which one of the two necklaces you would prefer, yellow gold or white gold, and tag your lover. It was pretty easy and I commented yellow gold and tagged my partner. He’s not active on Facebook so that was just for the mechanics. He didn’t know I entered the raffle. I shared their post and tagged my friends who might be interested. I shared the post twice and I was very active about the raffle and interacted at the comments section of the post.

I was hoping without actually expecting that I’ll get the yellow gold heart necklace. One day, the admin of the page replied to my comment and announced that I won the yellow gold necklace! I couldn’t believe it at first! My glee sprung from a deep belief that I don’t have luck in such situations and here it happened! I won! It felt like a miracle! I felt like dancing for joy because aside from getting a really dainty prize, the essence and feeling of actually winning something after years of believing I am not meant for such things is heady! I couldn’t contain my joy and was excited to claim the prize as soon as I can! It’s actually stainless steel plated in gold with a delicate gold chain. Wow. After I claimed it, I asked my partner to clasp the necklace for me. I won myself a necklace! Happy late Valentine’s Day to me, indeed.

You’re improving in your gift-giving skills! You know what I want and delivered! Yey! Thank you for the cutie patootie hello kitty tag-along and the blue customized bookmark! “I know you love to read so here,” you said as you handed me the bookmark shyly. I will forever keep this bookmark and always think of you when I read! :3 :*

I’m encouraged to buy more books! Soon! When I have the budget for it, I will buy paperbacks.

Nothing beats the feel of the pages, the spine and the smell of books! The caress of turning pages cannot compare to ebooks although I admit ebooks are very handy especially if I have to wait for the traffic to ease. But when I’m leisurely reading at home then I really want the real thing.

Thank You

I appreciate all your efforts especially if you try a hobby of mine.

I’m no expert at taking photos but I can say that aesthetic-wise and skills-wise, your photos can’t be considered good however the fact that you made an effort to take photos of things, us, and me, is enough to give me this warm feeling.

I may not upload the photos you took but I will keep it because they are my remembrance of your efforts.

Thank you for trying out new things with me.

        xoxo

Appreciation Post

I always pray to have the courage to follow you, challenge you (when I know I'm right and you're being stubborn and you overlook things), and solve life problems with you. I easily get mad, I'm hot-headed and we end up fighting and arguing. I'm thankful that you continue to try and work things out even though I'm despairing and thinking that we are simply falling apart (OA lang pud. haha pasensya). Let's continue our journey through life together, okay? We'll always be partners and thank you for correcting me when I'm wrong even though you get your head bitten off 'cause I hate being wrong. Hahaha forgive me. You know what to do when I get mad, right? Hahaha
